meet the mom

I’m so glad you’ve found your way here!  I started blogging last fall and since then it’s kinda morphed into something different.  I decided to give HighHeels2HiddenToys a makeover, and VOILA!  Fit Pink Mom was born!  Here’s what you need to know…

Confession… Caroline is technically my middle name.  Doctors and pharmacists are pretty much the only people who call me by my first name.

Confession… When I was pregnant I heard “oh I hope he’s not born on September 11; that would be a terrible birthday” at least 100 times.  I would always respond, “oh I don’t care; I’d rather him be born on September 11 than our anniversary.”  Guess when that little guy was born?  Yup, on our anniversary.  Here’s to spending the next 10+ anniversaries at Chuck E. Cheese!

Confession… I never planned to be a stay at home mom, but now that I am I don’t know if I will ever work outside the home again.  So what if I’ve memorized every episode of Abby’s Flying Fairy School?

Confession… My son [on here I call him “C”] turned two in September.  I don’t know where the time went– I feel like I was pregnant yesterday!  Aside from those occasional days where C decides to morph into a tiny tyrant, I prefer toddlerhood to the baby phase.

Confession… I was never into blogs until I became a mom.  It became my way to connect with the outside world while nursing a newborn.  I found so much support and humor in blogs I decided to create my own.

Confession… I met my husband, Adam, at a party at UNC in 2005.  He went to Duke and I went to ECU.  We love the ACC but are not Carolina fans.

Confession… I’m a grown-up teeny bopper.  I call my friends “girly” more often than a 30 year old probably should.  I have a ridiculous amounts of Taylor Swift on my iPod and I’ve seen Backstreet Boys in concert  six  a few times. I may or may not be currently listening to the Spice Girls thanks to my NKOTBSB Pandora Station. 😉

Confession… I never, ever, ever, EVER thought I’d be a “runner.”  Ever.  I’m serious.  I’m an ex-dancer with countless feet, ankle, and knee injuries under my belt.  I ran a half-marathon back in April and I’m still shocked I actually did it.

Confession… I love being 30!  I was so bummed to turn 27 because I was officially in my “late twenties,” so I thought I’d hate turning 30.  Turns out 30 feels pretty good.  It’s my most favorite age yet!

Confession… I’m not one to cry easily, but I get teary-eyed when I find out a friend is expecting.  The depth of a mother’s love can only be understood by another mother and I can’t explain the joy I feel for friends knowing their life is about to be flipped upside down in the most beautifully amazing way.

Thanks Sarah! It's been a huge process to give the blog a makeover, but I'm really excited about its new vibe… and I'm also excited to have time to catch up on my fave blogs, including yours! 🙂

  2. Love your new blog!

I've got to do some serious work on mine since it crashed when I tried to update my theme. I keep hoping the developer will fix the kinks and I can go back to using it again instead of redoing the whole thing on another theme…

Thanks Deb! I needed a new look/feel and am pretty excited about the direction it seems to be naturally going with the makeover. I can't believe your whole layout crashed– how frustrating! I'll keep my fingers cross you can get it back!

I love your "About" page. Fun facts! I too didn't become a blogger until I became a mom.

Thanks, Marnie! When I relaunched I read A LOT about what to include in an "about" page. I pretty much included all the info I already had.. Just rearranged it a bit! Thanks for visiting… I can't want to check out your blog!
